The Lady Warriors’ softball team faced up against 5A Statesboro on Friday, August 5, 2022, to start the Warrior Blast.
The Warriors fell short, 5-2, in the tournament contest, consisting of five innings. Kaylee Odum led the way, pitching, only allowing two earned runs. Chansley Eason led the offense with a late-inning two-RBI single before falling short.
On Saturday, the Warriors went up against 6A Apalachee High School. Apalachee proved to be too much to handle in the five-inning contest. Apalachee went on to win, 8-1. Anna DeLoach and Kaylee Odum led the effort on the mound.
On Tuesday, August 9, the Warriors traveled to Southeast Bulloch (SEB), but the game was called early due to lightning in the area. At the end of five innings, SEB was up, 2-1. Odum, senior, looked strong on the mound, only allowing one earned run. Senior catcher Eason led the Warriors with the lone run batted in.
Thursday’s game, August 11, was postponed due to inclement weather. A make-up date will be announced.
