Robert Abbott, Glennville's American Legion Post 95 Commander, was recently presented an award as Legionnaire of the Year for First District of the Georgia American Legion. At the American Legion Post 95 meeting on Thursday, August 13, 2026, Abbott was presented the award by Billy Tison, Junior Commander of Georgia First District American Legion.

The Citation reads: "In recognition of outstanding Leadership and Services as a member of the American Legion benefitting our Community, State, and Nation."
