The students and staff of Glennville Elementary School (GES) welcomed home GES Paraprofessional Ashley Weitman on April 27, 2022.

The entire school made their way outside, so they could wave and cheer her on as Weitman arrived back to Glennville for the first time in 60 days.

On March 3, Weitman was diagnosed with AML acute myeloid leukemia.  During that time, she received an aggressive form of chemotherapy. Prior to her release, all bloodwork indicates she is cancer free.

Weitman does have a long battle ahead.  She is currently awaiting a bone marrow transplant, and, during this time, she will continue with chemotherapy.

In addition to the welcome home to Glennville, other Tattnall schools wore orange to work to honor her.
