The Southeast Bulloch (SEB) Yellow Jackets scored 10 unanswered points in the second half to pull away from the Battle Creek Warriors and take a 23-9 win in Brooklet on Friday, September 16, 2022.

The Yellow Jackets got on the board first with a 23-yard touchdown pass and only 38 seconds remaining in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead. In the second quarter David Hill scored for Tattnall County one-yard plunge to cut the lead to 7-6.

After the Yellow Jackets fumbled deep in their own territory. Tattnall County would get the ball back. A few plays later the drive stalled and Angelio Bonilla drilled a 28-yard field goal to give the Warriors a 9-7 lead still in the second period. The Yellow Jackets would rally just before the half.

The Yellow Jackets would forge back in front (12-9) with a one-yard touchdown run. That was the score at the half.

In the second half, the Warriors offense self destructed on a number of occasions and it was all Yellow Jackets after that. At the 5:25 mark of the third period, the Warriors attempted a screen pass but the ball  fell to the ground in front of the receiver behind the line of scrimmage. It was ruled a lateral and the Yellow Jackets alertly scooped up the loose ball and raced 18 yards for a pivotal score. SEB now led 20-9. The Warriors offense continued to spit and a patter in the fourth period, mainly with bad snaps and missed blocking assignments.

The Yellow Jackets would add a late field goal for a 23-9 lead, and that was the final score. Tattnall County made one last drive deep into the Yellow Jackets territory, but on fourth down another bad snap ended all hopes and SEB took with 23-9.

Leading the Warriors offensive attack was Miles Brown with one carry, three yards, and a fumble. Brown was two of four passing for 24-yards. Jeremiah Mayner had 22 carries for 78 yards. Jeremiah Mayner had 22 carries for 78 yards rushing and one reception for 19 yards. He also completed three of six passes for 26 yards. Kell Lawson had eight rushes for 15 yards and one catch for 15 yards. David Hill added nine carries for 36 yards, one touchdown, and a fumble. Andre Anderson had two catches for 21 yards receiving.

SEB improves to 1-3, and Tattnall County drops to 2-2. Next up: The Warriors travel to Lyons this Friday, September 23 to face the 3-1 Toombs County Bulldogs in the PIT. Game time is at 8 p.m.
