Ansell signs with EGSC basketball

Macey Ansell, a Tattnall County High School (TCHS) senior, has signed an athletic scholarship with East Georgia State College (EGSC) to play basketball this fall. 

Ansell signed her scholarship surrounding by family, friends, classmates, teammates, and coaches on April 28, 2022, at TCHS.

She is a 5’11” senior forward who led the lady warriors in scoring and rebounding for the 2021-22 season. She averaged 13.7 points, 11 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game.

In March, Ansell was named to the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Class AAA South All-State Basketball team. 

She helped Tattnall reach a 18-8 record overall, 7-1 in the region. She also helped guide the lady warriors to the region championship, placing second. 

The lady warriors advanced to the sweet sixteen round of the state tournament, where they lost to eventual state champion Lumpkin County.

Ansell plans to pursue a degree in nursing. 

She is the daughter of Patrick and Lisa Ansell of Glennville.
