The Pinewood Patriots lost to the Frederica Academy Knights in their region matchup last Thursday night. The Patriots struggled offensively and could not contain the Knight’s star running back. The Knights bested the Patriots in a 42-26 point game. The Patriots look to take on the Bulloch Academy Gators this upcoming Friday night in Statesboro for their last regular season game of the year.
Banks Booth recorded 163 passing yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Walker Todd achieved 77 receiving yards, Banks Booth had 60, and Jake Rogers recorded 28 receiving yards for the Patriots. Booth also recorded 146 rushing yards with 24 carries. Kaedan Arnold recorded 91 rushing yards as well.
Frederica Academy scored twice in the first quarter–Frederica running back Jordan Triplett scoring both TDs on runs.
In the second, Booth got some points back after a 17 yarder to the end zone. Although the Patriot conversion failed, PCA still had some points on the board.
Frederica scored again in the second with a rush back to the end zone by Triplett. Booth and Banks Durrence then linked up for a huge 49 touchdown reception and another 6 points. The conversion by Booth to Rogers was good and the Patriots entered halftime only down by seven.
Frederica came out of halftime ready to return to the field–scoring another touchdown early in the third. With the point after kick, the Knights were up on the Patriots 28-14.
Kaedan Arnold, however, was ready to take those points back. Scoring on an 80 yarder to the end zone. The conversion was no good.
Frederica scored again in the third with a long run to the end zone. Third quarter ended with the Knights up 35-20.
The Knights scored again in the fourth with Triplett making another trip to the end zone. The Patriots recorded the last points of the game when Booth connected with Rogers for a 24 yard pass to the end zone. Final score of the game was 42-26.
The Patriots will take on region opponent and rivals Bulloch Academy this Friday night in Statesboro. Gametime is 7:30 p.m.
