On Friday, October 21, the Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) Patriots took on the Lions of St. Andrew’s School at home. The Patriots bested the Lions in a nail biting 30-26 victory.

Banks Booth returned to the field on Friday, recording ten completions for sixteen attempts for 194 yards. Walker Todd was the leading receiver with 139 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Jake Rogers and Booth also put points on the board for the Patriots, Rogers with one touchdown and Booth with two.

The Lions scored first in the first quarter. After a touchdown, the Lions produced another point from point after kick. However, on the kickoff, Jake Rogers responded with an 85-yard kick return for a touchdown. The two-point conversion by Booth was good and the Patriots would remain in the lead for the rest of the game.

With one minute left in the first quarter, Booth ran in another touchdown for another six points. Walker Todd received the ball from Booth for the conversion and the Patriots ended the first quarter up 16-7.

St. Andrew’s was the only team to score in the second–putting up another seven points after a touchdown and point after kick.

The Patriots scored in the third with a minute remaining–Booth pushing in another touchdown. The conversion failed, and the Patriots stayed in the lead 22-14.

The closest the Lions got to the lead happened in the fourth–the Lions rushed for a touchdown but thankfully the two-point conversion failed. Booth and Todd responded with a 24-yard passing touchdown. Booth then hit Rogers for the conversion and the Patriots added yet another eight points to the scoreboard.

The Last score of the game came from the Lions–a rushing touchdown late in the fourth contributed to the 30-26 final score. Thankfully, the two-point conversion was no good and the Patriots finished on top.

Pinewood will see the Knights of Frederica Academy this Thursday night for PCA’s annual Senior night in their second region matchup of the year.
