The Pinewood Patriots defended their territory this past weekend with a dominating performance on the gridiron. The Patriots defeated the Cavaliers of Mount De Sales Academy with a commanding score of 42-20.

From the start of the game, fans could tell that the Patriots were ready to battle. The first score of the game was in the second quarter with a 2 yard rush from quarterback Banks Booth to the end zone.

Walker Todd kicked in the extra point. This would be the first of three Patriot touchdowns in the second quarter.

Right after the first score, the Cavaliers fumbled the ball on a kickoff return. Jake Rogers caused the fumble and Jesse McLendon recovered. The Patriots then scored on the short drive–Booth to Todd on a pass to the endzone. Todd scored the extra point and the Patriots were up by two touchdowns early in the second.

Later in the second, Kaedan Arnold took it all the way to a TD on a kickoff return. Todd yet again kicked the extra point and the Patriots ended the first half over the Cavaliers 21-0.

Wesley Tippins went all the way in the third quarter on a 54 yard rushing touchdown. Todd yet again was good for the kick. Kaedan Arnold scored again in the third with a 20 yard push to the endzone. Todd was good for the extra point.

The Patriots will play at home again against the defending state champs, the Trojans of John Milledge Academy.
