Lady Patriots end season with winning record

The Pinewood Lady Patriots softball team traveled to Columbus last week to participate in the 2022 Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA) AAA Softball Playoffs. The Patriots played against Strong Rock Christian Academy from Locust Grove and Stratford Academy from Macon, coming up short in both games but finishing the year with a 16-12 record. 

The Patriots played Strong Rock Christian on Thursday, October 20. The Patriots from Locust Grove bested the Patriots from Bellville 14-7. 

The Pinewood Lady Patriots collected seven hits in the contest. The Lady Patriots put up five runs in the second inning. The big inning was led by Madison Bashlor, Libby Kate Blocker, Katelin Smith, and Aubree Cate Danner – all knocking runs in the inning. Smith also knocked in a homer in the sixth inning. 

On Friday, October 21, the Lady Patriots played against the Lady Eagles of Stratford Academy. The Eagles won over the Patriots 8-0 to end the Lady Pats season. Libby Kate Blocker and Mary Chandler Long each had a hit during the game.
