At a recent meeting of the Glennville Bank Board of Directors, long-time Chairman W. F. “Bill” Durrence, Jr. , passed the Chairman gavel to Nicholas C. “Nick” Tatum.
Bill Durrence, Jr., a third-generation director of Glennville Bank, has served on the Board of Directors since March 24, 1998, and was elected to serve as Chairman of the Board on March 24, 2015.
Tatum, Durrence’s nephew, was elected and has served on the Board since January 20, 2015. Both gentlemen are members of the GB Bank Group Board.
Before joining the Glennville Bank Board of Directors, both Durrence and Tatum were no strangers to the banking arena. Their banking heritage runs deep, as Bill’s father and Tatum’s grandfather, W. F. “Billy” Durrence, Sr., served as Glennville Bank President from 1973 to 1992.
Durrence’s grandfather and Tatum’s great grandfather, W. F. Durrence, served as the Bank President from 1909 to 1940. The longevity of their forefathers has been instrumental in carrying on the family tradition.
