Jonas Geiger Rapp, age 19, is a determined young man who knows that education is the key to success in life. He is the most recent full-time employee at Terrell’s Heating & Air, having recently completed his HVAC degree at Southeastern Technical College (STC), a two-year program.

“I graduated from Tattnall County High School in 2025, and I had already been taking dual enrollment courses during my junior and senior years. I had a full year left in the program last year, so I worked part-time at Terrell’s during that year of school at STC,” said Jonas, whose classes were both online and on campus.

“I actually started out in the electrical field and then decided I like the HVAC training better. I have no regrets in pursuing that specialty, since I love my job. I am thankful for my fellow employees for their encouragement and guidance, and especially the mentoring by Scott Terrell, who taught me a lot of what I know to date in the HVAC field,” said Jonas.

He acknowledged that his classes were excellent instruction, but nothing compares to on-the-job training from technicians who have years of experience in installation, repairs, and maintenance.

“They have seen all kinds of situations in the HVAC area, and their troubleshooting of problems has been an education in itself in just the past year. They have all been patient with me in their instruction and guidance, and I could not ask for a better place to work,” said Jonas.

He is also appreciative of Office Manager Heather Leone, who he considers his “work mom,” and another indication of the family atmosphere that prevails at Terrell’s.

“Right now, I mainly do repairs and maintenance on units and general service work, but I will probably be trained further in installations,” said Jonas.

With this summer’s extremely hot temperatures, he admits that working in the heat is often a challenge. He appreciates the businesses and homeowners who greet the technicians with a bottle of cold water during their visits.

“We are thrilled that Jonas chose Terrell’s Heating and Air to work in the HVAC field. He is a kind and considerate young man, and our customers have positively commented on him as well. We are all glad he is part of the team, punctual and at work every day and conscientious about his quality of work,” said Heather.

Jonas feels supported by his family in his career choice. His parents are K’Trina and Tracy Rapp and the late Lance Geiger of Glennville. His sister is Reagan Roberts, a registered nurse working in home health care, and her husband is Tyler Roberts, employed in ground maintenance at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville. The couple have made Jonas an uncle, a title he takes very seriously, with nieces Rylie, 2, and brand new addition, Bertie, who was born in July.

When not working, Jonas enjoys spending time with his family and fishing. He can often be seen after working hours with his constant companion, his beloved dog, Molly.

“I feel I have found my niche in HVAC at Terrell’s, and I value the warm welcome and ability to pursue my career choice,” said Jonas.
