Lady Patriots bring home two wins last week

The Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) Lady Patriots softball team brought home two wins on the road last week against the Crusaders of Trinity Christian and the Tigers of Claxton High. 

The Lady Patriots defeated Trinity Christian 8-6 on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied 6-6 with Pinewood batting in the top of the seventh when Gracie Fox singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. 

The Lady Pats collected seven hits. Fox and Katelin Smith each managed multiple hits for Pinewood. 

On Thursday, the Lady Patriots also out scored the Tigers of Claxton High School. Although Claxton had a push in the third inning; but the Lady Pats managed to pull through in a 9-4 final. 

Pinewood got on the board early in the first inning with a double by Priscilla Dillon and one RBI. 

Smith hit a home run for PCA late in the sixth inning and sealed the deal for the Lady Patriots.

Pinewood had eight hits with Smith and Dillon putting multiple hits on the books and on the scoreboard. Dillon went three-for-four at the plate and was the leading hitter for the Patriots. Pinewood also stole six bases–three of them by Morgan Blalock. 

Milli Anderson pitched both games and was solid in the circle–defending the mound and the plate to lead her team to two wins.
