Varsity Lady Patriots go 3-4 in a week full of home games and home runs

The Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots played four games the week of September 25th. Going 3-4 for the week, the Lady Patriots amassed stellar stats and a whopping 6 homeruns in total. 

Priscilla Dillon collected three hits in three at bats, as Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots defeated Edmund Burke Academy Varsity Spartans 12-7 on Monday. Dillon hit a home run to center field in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Milli Anderson grounded out, scoring one run, Dillon homered to center field, scoring two runs, Morgan Blalock doubled, scoring two runs, and Libby Kate Blocker laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.

PCA added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when Aubree Cate Danner grounded out, scoring one run, and Madison Bashlor singled, scoring two runs.

Anderson earned the win for Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots. The right-handed pitcher surrendered 10 hits and seven runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking six.

PCA amassed 11 hits in the game. Bashlor led Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. Emily Moncrief, Morgan Blalock, and Katelin Smith each collected multiple hits for Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots. Moncrief stole two bases. Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots turned three double plays in the game.

The Lady Patriots completed a game that began back in August against the Crusaders of Trinity Christian in Dublin. The Patriots won the gam, 12-0.

Priscilla Dillon drove in five runs on three hits to lead Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots past Trinity Christian Crusaders Varsity 12-0 on Tuesday. Dillon singled in the first scoring two, singled in the first scoring two, and singled in the third scoring one.

Pinewood Christian scored nine runs in the first inning on the way to victory. Katelin Smith doubled, scoring one run, Dillon singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, an error scored one run, Smith drew a walk, scoring one run, and Dillon singled, scoring two runs.

The Patriots added one run in the second after Emily Moncrief scored after tagging up.

The Lady Patriots added one run in the third after Dillon singled.

Milli Anderson earned the win for Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots. The right-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out four and walking two. 

PCA tallied 13 hits in the game. Moncrief, Morgan Blalock, Aubree Cate Danner, and Smith each collected multiple hits for the Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots. The ladies were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Smith had the most chances in the field with five.

Madison Bashlor collected three hits in four at bats, but Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots lost to Bulloch Academy Varsity Gators 8-5 on Thursday. Bashlor hit a solo home run to center field in the fourth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

Pinewood Christian got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Katelin Smith homered to left field, and Aniston Callanan doubled, each scoring one run.

The Lady Patriots added one run in the second after Bashlor scored after tagging up.

Bulloch Academy Varsity Gators jumped into the lead in the top of the third when Maralyne Belcher homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Kennedi Coty singled, scoring one run.

Bashlor hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fourth.Priscilla Dillon hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fifth.

Milli Anderson opened the game for PCA. They surrendered 13 hits and eight runs over seven innings, striking out one and walking none. Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots accumulated 10 hits in the game. Smith led Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots with two runs batted in. Aubree Cate Danner collected two hits for Pinewood in four at bats.

It came down to the wire on Friday, as Pinewood Christian grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 12-11, over John Milledge Academy Varsity Trojans. The Lady Patriots were down 11-9 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Priscilla Dillon homered to right field, scoring three runs.

Bats blistered as the Lady Patriots collected 10 hits and John Milledge Academy Varsity Trojans tallied 15 in the high-scoring game.

John Milledge Academy Varsity Trojans opened the scoring in the first after Jordan Prestridge drew a walk, scoring one run.

Aniston Callanan singled, which helped the Patriots tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

Pinewood Christian took the lead in the bottom of the second. An error scored one run to give PCA the lead, 2-1.

John Milledge took the lead, 4-2, in the top of the third thanks to doubles by Ansley Brooks, and Prestridge.

Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on four hits to take a 8-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Katelin Smith that drove in three.

John Milledge tied the game in the top of the fourth.

A single by Madison Bashlor gave Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots the lead, 9-8, in the bottom of the fourth.

The Trojans tied the game at nine in the top of the sixth.

John Milledge captured the lead, 11-9, in the top of the seventh after Brooks singled, and Prestridge singled, each scoring one run.

Then, Priscilla Dillon stepped up to the plate. With two outs, 3 balls, and one strike, the senior went yard to bring in Smith and Moncrief from third and second. The Patriots won the game, 12-11.

Milli Anderson earned the win in the circle for Pinewood. The right-handed pitcher gave up 15 hits and 11 runs (nine earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking three.


Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots accumulated 10 hits in the game. Dillon went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots in hits. Smith and Dillon each drove in three runs for Pinewood Christian Lady Patriots. Bashlor and Callanan each collected multiple hits for Pinewood. The Patriots turned one double play in the game.
