Tattnall County High School’s Stephen Bacon is the 2022 Georgia High School Association Region 3-AA Champion in cross country. The Warriors placed fourth at the GHSA Region 3-AA meet on Wednesday, October 26, advancing them to the State meet.
Bacon ran his fastest time, 17:38.51, at the region meet. The Warriors behind him were: Axel Sierra, 17th place (19:21.45); Jayden Grimes, 19th place (19:23.93); Eli Debevec, 27th place (20:21.72); Nathan Aaron, 33rd place (20:51.04); Jonathan Becerra, 44th place (22:28.65); and Deandre Lester, 48th place (23:59.13).
Tattnall’s Lady Warriors did not advance to State due to placing sixth in the region of seven. The top four teams in the region advance to State.
The top runner for the Lady Warriors was Daniela Nopal, 14th place (24:58.28), and closely behind her was Diana Cabrera, 15th place (25:24.91). Kinsley Hutcheson placed 19th place (26:32.36), Gladys Cabrera placed 32nd (29:19.93), Lilly Clark placed 33rd (29:24.24), Jennifer Martinez placed 36th (31:02.14), and Jaqueline Loza placed 37th (31:28.04).
Tattnall XC is coached by Jacob Stanfield and Kelly Odom. The State meet will be held in Carrolton, Georgia, on Saturday, November 5 at 9:30 a.m. for the 3A boys. The course is located at Carrolton High School, 202 Trojan Drive. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at here.
