William Golden, age 83, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Ogeechee Area Hospice. He was born on November 20, 1938, in Savannah, Georgia, to Jessie and Alice McBride Golden. William had lived in Jersey City, New Jersey, for most of his life, and has lived in Glennville since 2001. He was  a retired truck driver who worked for the Savannah Ports Authority. In general, William loved to work, and, in his free time, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and helping others.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Junior William Golden; sisters: Queenie Anderson, Gladys Thaniel, Reta Golden, Jesten Golden, and Sannie May Toombs; and brothers, Williard Golden and LC Golden.

He is survived by his children: Doris McCullough of Newark, NJ; Rashawn Blake of Statham, GA; and Lashawn Blake of Jefferson, GA; brother Lewis Golden of Staten Island, NY; grandchildren:  Trinity Blake, Chandler Blake, Bryce Blake, Makayla Blake, Jacob Blake, Aiden Blake, Christina Golden, Amayah, Sharieff, Allonni, Curbit Junior, Gianni, and Isaiah. 

The family would like to give a special thank you to his nephew, Richard Golden; niece, Beautine Golden Mincey; his loyal friend, Larry Eason; and his lovely partner, Dora Paulette Mayo.

Family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m., on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Glennville Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Glennville Memorial Gardens.
