Discussions followed from those attending, with each to review the handouts and return for another LOST renegotiation meeting on Wednesday, July 20, at 9 a.m. on the second floor of the Tattnall County Courthouse in the Commissioners’ meeting room.

Tattnall County held their second Local Option Sales & Use Tax (LOST) Renegotiation meeting on Monday, July 11, 2022, in the Tattnall County Courthouse at 10:15 a.m. The county commissioners attended as well as County Manager Frank Murphy, County Attorney Tom Peterson, and representatives from each of the four cities.  These included Glennville Mayor Bernie Weaver and Glennville City Manager Stan Dansby; Reidsville City Clerk Nivea Jackson and Reidsville Council member Verdie Williams; Collins Mayor Pro Tem Sandra Spikes; and Cobbtown Mayor James Buddy Collins and Cobbtown City Clerk Francine Jarriel.

County Manager Murphy distributed handouts showing the 2012 distribution and 2022 possible distribution based on property values per the Tax Digest as well as possible distribution methods, such as based on percentage of population (2020 census), total value of service provided by local governments from property taxes and LOST, and individual digest values (2022 digest).
