VFW Post 7764, Reidsville, recognized local and district award winners in several categories at their regular monthly meeting Monday night, March 10, 2025. Awards included Youth Essay Competition (Patriot's Pen), Alejandra Arroyo, 3rd place, District 6; Voice of Democracy, Brooklyn Waters, 1st Place, District 6; Citizenship Teacher of the Year, Dawn Rhoden, 1st Place, District 6; and Scout of the Year, Paul E. “Trace” Tippett, Lyons, Georgia, who was the District Scout of the Year winner at Post 7764. All contestants had been recognized in December when they won the competition at post level, except for the award for Boy Scout of the Year. That competition was held in February.
