Lanie Yancey and Mason Garcia, seniors at Tattnall County High School (TCHS), were chosen to serve as Georgia Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Region 3 officers for 2022.
The first item on the agenda for these officers was their attendance at Region Officer Academy (ROA) in Fort Valley, Georgia, for two days of leadership training. During this event, Lanie and Mason, along with representatives from the other 14 regions, worked with Cherie Hooks, Director of Leadership and Training, as well as three Georgia FBLA state officer alumni to improve their overall leadership skills. The day consisted of team building activities, breakout sessions, and communication segments.
The goal of the two-day event was to focus on skills needed to lead each region throughout the upcoming year. Mason and Lanie will serve as co-presidents for the TCHS FBLA. They brought back great ideas for meetings and activities. They both will be expected to lead workshops at the Region Leadership Conference to be held in January. Several other events throughout the year will allow them the opportunity to showcase their leadership skills. TCHS is proud of both Lanie and Mason serving as regional officers.
