TCHS FCCLA STAR Event competitors win gold at state competition
Seven students to travel to nationals in San Diego this summer

Tattnall County High School (TCHS) FCCLA STAR Event competitors traveled to Athens to compete at the 2022 State Leadership Conference, bringing home gold on Saturday March 26. 

Placing first in the state for their categories, advancing to the National Leadership Conference in San Diego this July, are: Anna DeLoach, Chloe Carlson and Addison Waters, Ellie Floyd, and Aubrey Poole. Pazley Harvey and Emma McDaniel also competed in an earlier online state competition and advanced to Nationals.

Raegan Collins, Abbey Hutcheson, Kinsley Hutcheson, and Lanie Yancey all placed third in the state in their respective categories.

In order to win gold, these competitors need to score a 90 or above on their presentation, made before a panel of judges. Level two is a category for ninth and tenth grade competitors; level three is a category for eleventh and twelfth graders.

Abbey Hutcheson, Kinsley Hutcheson, Lanie Yancey: Chapter Service Project Portfolio, Level 3

FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, and STAR stands for Students Taking Action with Recognition.
