During the months of September and October, the Tattnall County School System raised money for Tattnall C.A.R.E.S. (Cancer Association Relief Effort and Support).

In September, South Tattnall Elementary School (STES) held two “Orange Days” in memory of Mrs. Ashley Weitman, who passed away last May from a complication with leukemia. According to Dr. Kristi Kaiser, principal of STES, “One of the greatest ways to honor Ashley and her family is to give back to our own community and help support those who are facing a battle with cancer.”

In the month of October, the school system came together and dedicated two days to Breast Cancer Awareness. All staff and students were asked to wear pink and to donate a dollar. Mr. David Tucker, principal at South Tattnall Middle School (STMS), stated, “Every dollar donated will make a difference. I am glad we had the opportunity to support such a worthy cause.”

Around $2000 will be donated to Tattnall C.A.R.E.S. on behalf of the Tattnall County School System. Together, we can make a difference.
