An American Flag that had been flown over the U.S. Capitol on July 20, 2022, was raised at the new South Tattnall Elementary School (STES), located at 102 Love’s Chapel Road in Glennville. Participating in the 1 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2022, ceremony were members of Cub Scout Troop #929 of Glennville and American Legion Post #95, including Commander Gary Yawn, and VFW Post #8379 Commander Norman Davisworth, and other veterans.

STES Principal Dr. Kristi Kaiser and other school staff members were present for the occasion. She was presented with the official certificate, which stated: "At the request of the Honorable Rick Allen, Member of Congress, this flag was flown to commemorate opening and renaming of Glennville Elementary School to South Tattnall Elementary School in Tattnall County, Georgia."

Members of the Scout Troop unfolded the American Flag, and it was attached and raised by Scout Gary Gorsuch on the new flag pole placed at  STES.

Other Scout members in attendance include Wyatt Dykes, Israel Villalobos, Lawton Dykes, Emmett Dykes, Jayme Villalobos, and Wyatt Hornrich with their leaders, Tom and Holli Gorsuch.
