2022 Glennville Sweet Onion Festival Scholarships presented

The Glennville Sweet Onion Festival (GSOF) scholarships were presented on Saturday, May 12, 2022, at the Festival to two deserving 2022 graduates, Walt Banks of Tattnall County High School (TCHS) and Rebekah Whiten of Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA).  Each one received a scholarship of $500.

Banks is the son of Joe and Valorie Banks of Glennville. He is already enrolled in Automotive Technology classes at Southeastern Technical College, which he plans to complete. Banks has been active in several clubs and activities at TCHS and looks forward to a rewarding career.

Whiten is the daughter of Alan and Angie Whiten of Glennville. Her plans are to attend Georgia Tech to pursue a degree in Architecture. She, too, participated in several clubs and organizations in her school of PCA. She is anticipating a career in her desired field of architecture.
