Reidsville Food Lion celebrated the completion of six months of renovations this past Wednesday, December 13, 2023, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and Food Lion representatives attending from the North Carolina headquarters. Store Manager Dana Kennedy was profuse in his thanks to Assistant Manager Adam Grant and the Reidsville Food Lion staff.

"We  are proud of our fresh new look and the dedication of our staff in providing our customers with courteous service with a smile and a readiness to do what is needed to make their shopping at Reidsville Food Lion a satisfying experience," said Store Manager Kennedy. One of the renovations is readily seen when walking into the store, which are the six efficient check-out lanes, all manned by a store employee.

Assistant Manager Grant added, "Thank you to our entire team and our community for their support.  This recent renovation project took everybody getting on board during the process. We appreciate the smooth transition and the awesome job that was done in the renovations. Our goal is to continue to grow customers."

It was a fantastic day for Molly Kemp, who won a $250 gift card on Wednesday, December 13. Also, in addition to this free giveaway, Food Lion distributed free giveaways to the first 100 customers who visited the store each day through Saturday, December 16.

Grant English, Director of Operations of Food Lion, with his office in the North Carolina headquarters, commented on the many store improvements, with a new interior paint job brightening the store as well. Other improvements have been new signage throughout the store, especially in the bakery and deli, which is a popular stop for most customers.

"Our stores, including the Reidsville Food Lion, have undergone significant enhancements to better serve our customers since they opened about three years ago," said Meg Ham, President of Food Lion. "This includes a fresh new look and feel and convenient grab-and-go options that make every meal easier. We remain committed to providing low prices every day through great promotions and various opportunities to help our customers save. We're excited for our neighbors to experience our low prices and the improvements we made with them in mind."

Reidsville Store Manager Dana Kennedy has been in grocery management for over 20 years in various locations, including several Food Lion stores. He believes in being supportive of his staff and keeping the store extremely clean and well stocked, with signage that allows the customers to see new items and pricing.

The Food Lion Produce Dept. is well known in Tattnall County for its fresh vegetables and fruits, and the Meat Dept. has a strong following of customers as well.

Store managers include Garrett Linzy, Evening Store Manager; Lindsay Scharber, Perishable Manager; Art Holmes, Produce Manager; Belinda Wood, Deli/Bakery Manager; and Lewis Prader, Grocery Manager

"We are now carrying many more gluten free and organic items and more variety of items, and our customers love our new floral case for fresh flowers and plants," said Kennedy.
