On Monday, September 19, 2022, at 7:30 a.m., the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about a deceased man in the backyard of a home on Harvey Lane in the White Pines community of Glennville, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). The man has been identified as Dequan Deion Thorpe, 23, of Savannah.

There was also another shooting around 5 a.m. on Tuesday on Highway 301 in Glennville, near El Cheapo. At the time of the incident, two vehicles were traveling side by side, according to Sheriff Kyle Sapp. One vehicle shot at the other, but there were no injuries. This is an ongoing investigation, and it is unknown if the two incidents are related.
