Pinewood shotgun team takes 4th in season opener

Established in 2015, this is the Pinewood Christian Academy (PC) Shotgun team’s 9th year under Head Coach Jarin Lewis and Asst. Coach Michael Clark. PCA has 26 shooters on the roster this year. Due to the high number of shooters, there will be a Travel Team and a Non-Travel Team this year. The travel team may change from shoot-to-shoot, depending on each shooter's qualifying scores at practice. 

PCA had their first qualifier shoot on August 26, 2023, at Forest City Gun Club, hosted by Benedictine. Among the nine teams, PCA placed 4th, only 43 birds behind 1st place. The travel team for this meet included:  Harrison Cleary, Wyatt Dasher, Chris Driggers, Bryson Dutton, Ella Fields, Rans McCall, Abi Pazderski, Ethan Stavriotis, Emily Stidams, CJ Strickland, Levi Ward, and Barrett Wilbanks.

Top 6 overall shooters for PCA were: Dutton with 173/200. McCall and Strickland tied with 171/200.  Stidams, Pazderski, and Stavriotis all tied with 170/200.

The Top 5 in skeet: Ward was 49/50.  Strickland and Stidams tied with 48/50. Pazderski and Driggers tied with 47/50. 

Top 5 in Trap: Dasher, Pazderski, and Dutton tied with 45/50. Stavriotis and McCall tied with 44/50. 

Top 5 in Sporting Clays: Dutton 86/100, Stidams 84/100, McCall 83/100, and Driggers and Stavriotis tied with 82/100.  PCA also had two shooters with their 1st 25 straights in competition. 

Senior Emily Stidams had a 25 straight on skeet while Sophomore Bryson Dutton shot a 25 straight on trap.

The next shoot will be Saturday, September 23, at Baygall Sporting Clays in Garfield, GA.
