Three area teens excelled at the 2022 Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) National Championship, ending on Saturday, July 16, in Ohio.
Each of these athletes are present and past members of the PCA Clay Target Team and present members of the Forest City Juniors, which won the overall 2022 National Championship for the third year in a row.
Landyn Fries of Claxton won the Ladies IE Individual Skeet Championship. She shot her first perfect round of skeet the first day and did it again the second day of skeet. She posted her personal bests in skeet and trap. Her squad won first place in doubles skeet, second place in skeet, fourth place in sporting clays, and fifth place in Trap.
Landyn is the daughter of Steven and Terri Fries. She is a freshman at Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA).
Siblings Rich and Abi Pazderski of Glennville also competed at SCTP Nationals. Rich, 18, has been chasing HOA (High Overall Award) for four years, and 2022 is his year. He is the 2022 SCTP National Champion, shooting 587 out of 600, and was named on the All-state Sporting Clays Team for Georgia. He is also the individual varsity champion in sporting clays, shooting 197 out of 200. He was awarded first place squad in sporting clays, first place squad in Doubles skeet, third place squad in skeet, and fifth place squad in trap. He will attend Georgia Southern University this fall and will be a member of the South Clay Target Team.
Abi, 16, placed eighth overall in the lady’s competition, second place squad in skeet, and third place in the individual lady’s skeet champion.
Rich and Abi are the children of Sandy (Burkhalter) Pazderski and Richie Pazderski and the grandchildren of Jerry and Faye Burkhalter of Glennville and Andy and Teresa Anderson of Brunswick. Rich is a 2022 graduate of PCA, and Abi is a Junior at PCA.
