Tina Skipper was recognized with a plaque signifying her attainment as the first Certified City Clerk in the history of the City of Ludowici at the Tuesday, February 13, 2024, Ludowici City Council meeting.

Skipper is also within just ten hours from completion of the Clerk’s Masters Education Management Development Program.

She was commended by Ludowici Mayor Jim Fuller and other council members for  her dedication and commitment to this accomplishment, which has included 153 hours of extensive classes and training.

In addition to the Georgia Municipal Clerks Training, she also completed training in Mueller Meter Training for New Meters; Crisis Risk Certified; GBI Security and Integrity Certified; Election Registrar; Safety Coordinator 1, 2, 3, and 4 Certified; Defensive Driving Certified; Workers’ Comp Certified; Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) Damage Assessment Certified; General Liability Training; Governmental Fund Revenue, Customer Service and Best Practices; and Department of Community Affairs (DCA)-Contracts for Local Government Training for Grant Writing.

“I would like to personally thank the City of Ludowici, Mayor, and Council for the opportunity to allow me the time and revenue to get fully Clerk certified; and for allowing me to do my continuing education to better assist the city and its citizens.  With this training, I will be able to keep up with all updated rules and regulations to help receive available funding and resources to keep the city within the legal guidelines,” said Ms. Skipper.

Skipper, a native of Long County, has worked for the City of Ludowici for 12 years, first as Assistant City Clerk, and then has served as City Clerk since March of 2013.  Tina and her husband, Hal Skipper, have a daughter, Cori McFann Levesque. Tina and Hal also have three grandchildren: Layton, Colin, and Henley.
