Theron Harris is new council member for Reidsville, Wayne Tatum re-elected to District 4 seat

Theron Harris was elected as the new city council member of Ward 2, Post 1, of the City of Reidsville in a three-way election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024: Theron Harris, 290 votes; William Bargeron, 158 votes; and Brian Nerzig, 106 votes.

In the District 4 Tattnall County Commissioner race, incumbent Republican Wayne Tatum was re-elected with 1332 votes to challenger Democrat Ricky Arthur's 500 votes.

SPLOST (Special Local Option Sales Tax) also passed in Tattnall with 5033 votes for and 3030 against.

Tattnall voters also voted heavily in favor of both constitutional amendments and the statewide referendum on the ballot.

Tattnall voters heavily voted for Republican Donald Trump with 6511 votes compared to 1965 votes for Democrat Kamala Harris.

Unlike many other elections, Tattnall voters went to the polls, whether in early or absentee voting or on election day. Of the 11,757 registered voters, 8558 voted, a 72.79 percent voter turnout. Advance voting comprised over 48 percent of the registered voters in Tattnall. State voter turnout in early voting was 55.3 percent early/absentee, and 92 of the 159 counties in Georgia exceeded the 50 percent voter turnout in early voting.
