Reidsville City Attorney DuAnn Cowart-Davis provided the council a list of outstanding dilapidated building and nuisance properties at the June 13, 2022, city council meeting.

Cowart-Davis provided the names of the properties and the action taken to resolve any issues as of June 9. They are listed below:

Jimmy and Earl Burns property (S. Main Street) 

Action Taken: Citation issued; defendant found guilty of having a dilapidated property/blighted building and has been placed on probation

Premier Realty (West Brazell Street) Action Taken: Third letter sent on March 12, 2020

Michael Fields (Hwy. 56 Ext)

Action Taken: Letters have been sent; Property has been cleaned up

Tommy Butler (Numerous properties)

Action Taken: Letters drafted; no address on file

Felton Middleton Estate (Small Street)

Action Taken: Letter sent; deadline was July 1, 2021

Agnes Jackson (Small Street)

Action Taken: Letter sent; deadline was July 1, 2021

Kevin L. and Rosa Lee Byrd (Small Street)

Action Taken: Vehicles on property; need to confirm correct property

Cowart-Davis advised the council to send her any properties that need to be added to this list. The Reidsville City Council planning sessions are held every first Monday of the month; however, July’s meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 5, at 5 p.m., because of Independence Day. The Reidsville City Council meetings are regularly held on the second Monday of the month at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers (next meeting will be held on Monday, July 11).
