New concrete drainage pipe has been furnished and is ready to be installed on Chandler Avenue in Reidsville.

The materials for this project total $62,300 and will be paid for by the Transportation Investment Act (TIA). The materials were furnished by Diamond Concrete Products, LLC, on July 7, 2022.

The installation of the pipe should take approximately 18 months, according to the July 2022 meeting minutes,

In 2012, the Transportation Referendum passed in the regions of Central Savannah (Region 7), River Valley (Region 8), and Heart of Georgia (Region 9). These regions implemented a one percent regional sales tax to fund transportation improvements. Collection of these TIA funds began on January 1, 2013.

The Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission transfers 25 percent of the collections received to local governments within each region.
