South Tattnall Elementary School (STES) teacher Debbie Holloway was recently nominated for a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Technology.  These awards are the highest recognition that a kindergarten through 12th grade science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics teacher may receive for outstanding teaching in the United States. Up to 110 teachers are recognized each year.

Holloway was nominated by RESA (Regional Education Service Agency) for this award, and STES Principal Dr. Kristi Kaiser complimented her on her strengths as an educator. Holloway has been in education for 14 years and has taught math to second graders, third graders, and fifth graders.  She was introduced to the Tattnall County Board of Education members at their meeting on Monday, February 26, 2024.

"Upon completion and submission of her application, she will enter a field of competition amongst other teachers across the United States. If she is one of the 110 recipients, Debbie Holloway will receive $10,000," said Principal Kaiser.
