After a distinguished tenure of dedicated service, Kim Tatum is stepping down from her role as Sponsor/Advisor for the Greater Tattnall Chamber of Commerce Junior Board of Directors. Dusty West and Lori Hutcheson will co-chair the responsibilities for the 2024-2025 year, ensuring the continuity of leadership and support for the Junior Board.

Kim Tatum has been an invaluable member of the Greater Tattnall Chamber of Commerce since 2007, serving on the Board of Directors until June 2024. She held the position of Chamber President from 2011 to 2012 and was honored as the Tattnall County Citizen of the Year in 2010. Tatum co-sponsored the Junior Board of Directors from 2007 to 2021 before becoming the Sponsor/Advisor in 2021, a role she held with dedication until June 2024.

Beyond her work with the Chamber, Tatum has made significant contributions to the community through various roles. She has been an active member of the Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Extension Leadership Program Development Team since 2015 and founded the Tattnall County Cancer Association Relief Effort & Support (C.A.R.E.S.) in 2008, serving as its President to date. Her leadership extended to the American Cancer Society, where she chaired the Relay for Life from 1997 to 2007. In recognition of her service, Tatum received a Georgia Senate Resolution in 2011.

Tatum’s community involvement includes serving on the Glennville City Auditorium Committee since 2012, participating in the Tattnall Productions Committee from 2009 to 2020, and co-directing Tattnall Productions since 2020. She also plays a role in the Pinewood Christian Academy Grandparents Club as the Public Relations representative.

Professionally, Tatum worked with the Department of Corrections from 1985 to 1999 and at Reidsville Ace Hardware from 1999 to 2017. She left her job at Reidsville Ace Hardware to dedicate more time to her family, including babysitting her grandchildren. Tatum is married to Ken Tatum since August 1984, and they have two children, Kay-Lyn and Kameron, and four grandchildren, Evan Kate, Brantley, Kenann, and Emmitt.

Reflecting on her decision to step down, Tatum shared, "The decision to step away from my duties as the Sponsor/Advisor for the Junior Board of Directors and the Chamber was difficult and was one that was not made in haste. Many hours of prayer went into the decision. When we lost David Avery, it was as if a member of my family had passed away. Our friendship was filled with a lot of fun times, along with the good, we also shared in the sad moments of each other’s lives. Like my friendship with David, the Greater Tattnall Chamber of Commerce was an integral part in the many friendships that I gained during my time of service. Those friendships will always hold a special place in my heart. To everything there is a season, and for me, the time has come to step aside from some of my civic duties and step into the next chapter of my life."

The Greater Tattnall Chamber of Commerce wishes to thank Kim Tatum for her years of selfless service to the entire community and wishes her happiness in her future endeavors.

"Kim's dedication and commitment have been exemplary, and her impact on our community is immeasurable," said Dan Bennett, President of the Chamber.
