Lands presented with Distinguished Sales Society Award

Deidre Barnett, Casey Morris, and Michelle Anderson-Lands were recognized at the Statesboro Board of Realtors Awards banquet for their real estate performance in 2021.

Michelle Lands of Reidsville was recognized at the Statesboro Board of Realtors Awards Banquet for her success selling real estate during 2021.

Lands sold $4 million worth of real estate during this year, her first full year as an agent. This earned her the Distinguished Sales Society Award, which recognized agents who sold over $1 million in real estate.

Lands works at South Central Realty in Reidsville in addition to working at her salon, Divas Hair Studio.  She has been a hairdresser for 19 years, but has transitioned to no longer taking new clients or walk-ins.

“I have always been interested in real estate, and I just knew that my back couldn’t handle doing hair everyday. I transitioned to be in the salon on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays a few years ago.  I plan to go two days a week in the salon soon.  I fit being a real estate agent everywhere in between,” Lands said.

Lands graduated from Ogeechee Technical College in 2003 with her Master Cosmetologist degree. She is a 1994 graduate of Tattnall County High School.

Lands took an online real estate course, passing her real estate agent exam on the first try.  She was anxious to take the test, since many students do not pass it on the first try, but she was relieved when she was told that she had passed the exam.

“There was a huge need for a realtor in our area,” Lands said. “Real estate is a busy profession, but it comes naturally to me.  I believe that your personality has to be suitable for conflicts, resolutions, and challenges in real estate, but I am built for that.”
