Although the Japanese Grill, a food truck business on downtown Barnard Street in Glennville, has been open for several months, the new business hosted its official ribbon-cutting event on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. A large crowd attended the event and enjoyed delicious samples of their menu items plus cupcakes and punch.
Glennville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Shellie Smith welcomed the owner, Stuart Bland, and his family to the downtown and thanked them for their investment in the community. The Japanese Grill is in addition to Michelle Bland's downtown Busy Little Beavers PreSchool and the family business of Bland's Heating and Air on Railroad Street.
"It is so nice to see the food service that you offer with a smile and promptness," Smith said.
Glennville Mayor Bernie Weaver added his thanks to the Blands for their investments in Glennville and commented that it was always good to have a new business in the community. He also thanked Jerry and Luke Burkhalter for providing the venue and resources for the placement of the Japanese Grill.
Stuart was accompanied by his wife, Michelle; their son, Jordan (dressed as a Japanese Samurai warrior), along with his wife, Morgan, and their daughter, Maggie; and sons Westley and Adam Bland; Stuart's brother, Tim Bland; and their parents, Willie and Judy Bland.
"I appreciate this turnout today and to all those who have patronized us the past few months in allowing us to serve you. We look forward to continuing to see you visit often," the owner said.
In addition to Stuart, the Japanese Grill staff includes Manager Kelly Callahan, Hannah Creighton, Emma Anderson, Caleb Summers, Adam Bland, and Jon Summers.
The location is 112 W. Barnard Street, Glennville, and hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and closed on Wednesday and Sunday. To place an order, download the Toast app, or order at the window.
