Kyle Altman granted $1 million bond

Kyle Altman of Reidsville was arrested for the kidnapping of an Evans County child on September 11, 2021.

Kyle Altman of Reidsville has been granted a $1 million bond, according to the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. 

Altman, 26 when arrested, was swiftly apprehended and arrested on September 11, 2021, in connection with the kidnapping of an Evans County child.

He is charged with ten felony counts, including one count each of kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, cruelty to children in the first degree, child molestation, false statement/concealing facts, and possession of child pornography, as well as three counts of felony obstruction of law enforcement officers.

According to the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office, they responded to a call in the early morning hours on Saturday, September 11, 2021, to a residence on Highway 147 near Reidsville in reference to a missing nine-year-old female. The child is a resident of Evans County.

During a search of the area conducted by family members and law enforcement, the child was located in an unoccupied mobile home not far from the residence. Also located in the unoccupied mobile home was a male subject who investigators believe abducted the child from the residence. The male subject fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later in a wooded area near the incident location. The suspect was arrested by the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.
