The Tattnall County men’s soccer team saw their season end in the second round of the state playoffs after they lost a defensive struggle to East Forsyth, 2-1, in double overtime on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in the Badlands.

After a scoreless game, the match went into overtime. Tattnall scored with five minutes left in the second overtime, but East Forsyth tied the game on a free kick. East Forsyth would then outscore Tattnall County, 3-2, on penalty kicks to take the victory.

Albert Ovalle scored Tattnall’s lone goal in regulation. He also broke the single season goals record with 23 goals scored, while freshman Yajir Estrada was right behind him with 22 goals.

Tattnall County boys’ soccer are the Region Champions for the first time since 2019 and finished the year at 15-3. The Warriors improved from last year’s 7-8 season mark.

The Warriors will miss seniors Brandon Houser, Landon Hernandez, Isaiah Bush, Angel Delgado, Fernando Andrade, and Travarus Rogers.
