Although the official Georgia State Patrol wreck report has not been completed, some details are available on a deadly three vehicle highway crash on U.S. 301 south of Glennville that occurred around 4:50 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022.  Julie Bass Sikes of Claxton and Ashley Hartmeyer of Reidsville were killed in the head on collision.

According to the preliminary investigation, vehicle #1, driven by Sikes, was traveling south bound on Hwy. 301 and sideswiped a log truck driven by Heath Dasher of Glennville (vehicle #2) which was traveling in the opposite (north bound) lane.  Following impact with the log truck, Sikes’ vehicle continued into the oncoming lane and struck vehicle #3, driven by Ashley Hartmeyer of Reidsville, head-on. Dasher suffered no apparent injuries.
