Edit: The two inmates were captured by the U.S. Marshals in Tallahassee, Florida, on Wednesday, November 3, 2022.

On Monday, October 10, 2022, at approximately 2:00 p.m. two inmates escaped from recreation yard at the Tattnall County Jail.  The Inmates are identified as John Herbert Mincey, Black/Male, Age 30, 5’9” – 180 pounds, of Reidsville and Meahki Asahmad Carter, Black/Male, Age 18, 5’10” – 140 pounds of Reidsville.  One was wearing orange jail jumpsuit and the other had on white boxers and a white t-shirt.

Mincey was being held on Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats and Acts and Probation Violation.

Carter was being held for Multiple Counts of Entering Auto, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm during a Crime.
