Magistrate Judge Anderson arrested for Terroristic Threats, violation of Oath by Public Officer

Tattnall County Magistrate Judge James E. “Eddie” Anderson was arrested on July 25, 2022, and charged with Terroristic Threats (misdemeanor) and Violation of Oath of Public Officer (felony).

These charges stem from an incident in June 2022, which is under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. A Facebook post regarding the incident provided limited details and accused Anderson of trespassing on private property. 

According to Tattnall County Sheriff Kyle Sapp, Anderson was booked into the Tattnall County Jail and released on his own recognizance, per a Superior Court judge. Anderson was serving his fourth term as magistrate judge. 

The case with be presented to a grand jury at a later date. This is a developing story.
