Charges pending after car strikes Ace Hardware fence

Charges are pending against a Lyons man who struck Reidsville Ace Hardware’s fence, a trailer, and a shelter with his vehicle on Friday, September 16, 2022.

Reidsville Police responded to this single vehicle accident on Friday morning, according to a press release. When an officer arrived, he met with the owner of Ace Hardware on Highway 280 West and the driver of the vehicle, Hunter Phillips. 

After leaving O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Reidsville, the driver accelerated, causing the vehicle to break traction, and he lost control. 

While trying to correct his vehicle, the driver was ejected. The vehicle then went through the Ace Hardware fence, hit a trailer, and then came to a stop after hitting a shelter, according to the press release. No serious injuries were reported.
