Jamie Ellis Jr., 22, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office in Ridgeland, SC, on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

Ellis was wanted for murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of firearm by convicted felon in connection to the murder of Dequan Deion Thorpe that occurred on September 19, 2022, in Glennville, GA. He will be transported to the Tattnall County Jail. The GBI would like to thank the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (South Carolina) and the U.S. Marshals Service for their assistance in arresting Ellis.
