SFC Basil A. Harris, Sr. was born on September 20, 1959, in St. Petersburg, FL, to Willie Harris, Jr. and Emma Lee Baines. He entered into eternal rest on August 2, 2022, in Glennville, GA. He was sixty-two years old.

He went to school in Jacksonville, FL, and attended Andrew Jackson High School. At the age of 18, he joined the U.S. Army. He received numerous awards and medals throughout his career proving he was an exemplary soldier.

Basil was preceded in death by his father, Willie Harris, Jr.; two brothers, Joe Nathan Baines and Larry Harris. 

He is survived by his children, Alison Williams, Arica Jenkins (Alvin), Basil Jr.  and Felicia Harris; mother, Emma Lee Baines; siblings, Willie Alfred Harris (GA), Edmund Harris (FL), Patricia Harris (FL), Calvin Harris (FL) and Michael Harris (FL), and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held on August 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at King and Sons Funeral Home, Glennville, GA.
