John J. Reddish, age 61, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Optim Medical Center-Tattnall. The native of Wayne County moved to Tattnall during his formative years and spent his adult life in and around Reidsville.  His career was not just a “job” to him. He found his second family with his work at Ranger Mechanical. Long workdays and work sites that took him out of town, he and his co-workers formed lifelong bonds.

While at home, he found his greatest joy in being able to spend time with his kids and grandkids.  Often, they could be found in the local ponds and rivers, fishing or camping out.  In his idle time, he loved building things. His family recalls that he could create, craft, or construct anything he set his mind to.  A man who lived every day to its fullest and loved every moment, John will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jean Smith Reddish.

Left to celebrate a life well lived is his wife, Tonya Teston Reddish of Reidsville; two sons, Jamie and Jon Reddish, both of Reidsville; a sister, Ann Hill of Jesup; seven grandchildren: Drayke Stains, Persayis Gomez, Valerie Perez, Ahlaina Strickland, Diego Velasquez, Conception Velasquez, and Madox Reddish; his extended family at Ranger Mechanical; and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, beginning at 7 p.m., in the Chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial. All family and friends were invited to attend and share memories made along life’s journey with John.

Low Country Cremation & Burial served the Reddish family.
