An early morning commercial structure fire occurred at around 1 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, on South Main Street in Reidsville. Reidsville Fire Department, Tattnall County Fire, Rogers State Prison Fire, Reidsville Police Department, Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office, and Tattnall County EMS responded to the blaze. The first unit to arrive found heavy smoke and flames coming out of the building. The firefighters were able to keep the fire from igniting the adjacent buildings, but the business where the fire struck was a complete loss.  No injuries were reported. South Main Street was closed for a short time while the fire was brought under control.
