On October 15, 2026, M.C. Purcell Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8379 celebrated a remarkable milestone: 80 years of service to veterans, military families, and the Glennville community. Established on October 15, 1946, in the aftermath of World War II, the Post has become a lasting symbol of patriotism, fellowship, and commitment to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Eighty years ago, a group of veterans returned home with a vision that their service to the nation would not end when they removed their uniforms.
