It is with great joy that Mr. James E. Shuman and Mrs. Clarice K. Shuman of Glennville, Georgia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathleen Sarah, to Jackson Tod Turner, son of Mr. James D. Turner and Mrs. Joy L. Turner of Eatonton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Eva Lou Shuman and the late Mr. John Daniel Shuman of Reidsville, Georgia, and the late Mr. Harold Poland and Mrs. Mary Nell Poland of Maplesville, Alabama.

She is a graduate of Tattnall County High School and Georgia Southern University where she received a Master of Arts degree in English. Presently, she is employed by South University.

The future groom is the grandson of Mr. Charlie Carnes and Mrs. Harriet Carnes of Eatonton, Georgia; Mr. Wayne Burgamy and Mrs. Joyce Burgamy of Milledgeville, Georgia; and Mrs. Virginia Turner of Eatonton and the late Donald Turner.

He is a graduate of Gatewood Academy and Georgia Southern University where he received a Master of Arts degree in English. Presently, he is employed by Richmond Hill High School.

The wedding is planned for September 3, 2022, at Lovely Lane Chapel on St. Simons Island, and will be officiated by Pastor Steve Posey of St. Simons Island.

Kathleen will be attended by her friends, Miss Carmen Bigelow of Statesboro, Georgia, and Mrs. Sarah Floyd Hampl of Denver, Colorado. 

Jackson will be attended by his friends, Mr. Cline Wooten of Savannah, Georgia, and Mr. Cameron Smith of Charleston, South Carolina.

The couple will reside in Savannah after their wedding.
