Shortly after 2 a.m. on August 19, 2022, Collins Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at Dry Branch farms. 

Upon arrival fire personnel found the onion shed completely engulfed in flames. The fire was a total loss as the onion shed was completely destroyed. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Tattnall Emergency Medical Services, Tattnall County Fire, Reidsville Fire, Cobbtown Fire, Metter Fire, Toombs County Fire, prison fire teams from Telfair, Montgomery, and Dodge, and the two Tattnall County stations at Rogers State Prison and Smith State Prison also responded.
