PCA students excel in National Latin Exam

Pinewood Christian Academy (PCA) students who are in the Latin I or II class with Tom Sollosi take the National Latin Exam in the spring.  

For the 2021-22 school year, the University of Mary Washington administered the National Latin Exam to schools in all 50 states that have a Latin Program for their students.  Also included in this year’s program were 21 countries outside the U.S. The Classical Language Department of the University recently reported the results of this exam to Pinewood Headmaster Clay Hill.

The following Pinewood students were recognized at the Honors Day program for their achievement in Latin:

Latin I Maxima Cum Laude:  Emily Moncrief, Hailey Jarriel, Emma Strickland, and Liam Porter

Latin I Magna Cum Laude:  Will Wasson

Latin II Summa Cum Laude:  Sydney Tippins

Latin II Maxima Cum Laude:  Priscilla Dillon

Latin II Magna Cum Laude:  Aniston Callanan, Carson Berry, and Grace Rogers

Latin II Cum Laude:  Caralea Quick, Jesse McClendon, and Brinson White

Based on their score, these students received gold medals, silver medals, and certificates of merit for their performance.
