"I, Robert D. Parker, wish to announce my intentions to seek re-election as the 5th District Long County Commissioner in the 2024 election.  It has been an honor and privilege to serve not only the citizens of the 5th district, but all of the citizens of Long County for the last seven years as both Commissioner and Chairman of the Board.

"As a lifelong resident of Long County, and as a husband and father, I have a vested interest in continuing to provide our citizens with the best services possible while continuing to maintain low taxes.

"I have served Long County and the City of Ludowici over the past 20 years as a deputy sheriff, Chief Deputy Coroner, Police Chief, and County Commission Chairman.  I currently own Altamaha Land Company, a real estate and timber business in Long County.  My wife, Amanda, and I live in Ludowici with our two boys, Jack and James.
