“I, Ricky Arthur, Sr., have qualified to seek the office of Commissioner of the 4th District.  As a lifelong resident of Tattnall County, I have seen its potential growth and prosperity.  I am uniquely groomed and trained to handle the responsibilities of this high office.

“For the past 21 years, I have been an employee of SNF, Inc., in Riceboro, Georgia. SNF is the world’s leading manufacturer of water soluble polymers and associated monomers. As an employee, I have risen in the ranks to become a Senior Production Planner. In this position,  I oversee planning and scheduling of multi-faceted products and services. Before coming to SNF, I worked for Walmart, Inc., at the distribution center in  Statesboro,  Georgia, as Operation Manager for five years. As manager, I supervised over 100 supervisors and associates. The job also included policy setting and regulations, procurement, expenditures, budgeting, and improving the quality of service for a multi-billion dollar a year company. Because of my work ethics and experience in working well with people from all walks of life, we are able to make a better and peaceful environment for all to benefit. 

“My walk with God reigns supreme in my life. I am a member of First African Missionary Baptist Church in  Glennville.  I currently Pastor two churches, Beulah #1 Missionary Baptist Church, Glennville (Mendes);  and Durden Grove Baptist Church,  Twin City,  Georgia. I have been Pastor of both for seven years.

“I’m married to Linda Nunnally Arthur. We have been married for 42  years. Together, we have four grown children: Shanette, Michelle (Demetrius), RJ (Norisha), and Tanisha (Alfred); and eight precious grandchildren:  Brandon, Cameron, Emory, Damonae, Xian, Davian, Ay’mani, and Ariyana.

“Shannette works with the TSA as a Supervisory Transportation Security Officer at Savannah- Hilton Head Airport.

“Michelle works as an IT Manager for Miller Clapperton in Austell, Georgia; and Demetrius works as an IT Director for the City of Stockbridge, Georgia. 

“Ricky, Jr. (RJ) works as an Electrical Diagnostic Tech II at the Mercedes Benz plant in Vance, Alabama.  Norisha works as a Master Teacher at Telamon Corporation in   Glennville.

“Tanisha works at Samsung Corp. in Austin, Texas, as an Engineering Tech II; and Alfred (Fred) works as a Materials Examiner and Identifier at Fort Cavazos recycle center in Killeen, Texas.

“As your elected 4th District County Commissioner, it is  my intentions to  serve the people who elected me, and all the citizens of Tattnall  County.  I vow to be a humble servant for all people and to listen and address  all concerns within my power.

“A mentor once told me many years ago that ‘if someone asks for a pencil, the pencil may not be important to you, but it is important to them.’ All concerns will be important to me.
